New Hires

  • Welcome to our Team!

Danville School District 118 wants to say welcome!  We know that starting a new job can come with a lot of excitement but yet a lot of uncertainty about what is expected as a new hire. We are here to make sure that we help ease you into your new position as smoothly as possible!

After you have officially accepted the position, a Human Resources Specialist will be reaching out to you very soon!  They will schedule a time that works best for you so the onboarding process can begin.

For more information on requirements and preparing for the onboarding process, please review the following information that corresponds with your position.

  • Certified Staff:

Official Transcripts are required from all colleges you have attended in order to justify your placement on the salary schedule. These must be submitted before your official start date.  If you complete further coursework at a later date, official transcripts should be submitted to the Human Resources Office in order to advance on the salary schedule. Refer to your contract book for details and deadlines.

Your Teaching Certificate must be registered in Vermilion County for the current school year. We must have a copy of your teaching certificate(s) indicating it has been registered in Vermilion County. If you have a provisional certificate, make sure you get it registered for the testing for your standard certificate. In the spring, the Regional Office of Education will come to your school to register teachers' certificates for the following three school terms. This is a convenience for certified staff, but if you fail to register at the school, you must go to the Regional Office of Education to register your certificate(s) before you will be allowed into the classroom. If you get additional certificates or endorsements, please bring them in so that we can make a copy for your file and change your records.

Employment verification from former employers for all years of experience for which you are being credited on the salary schedule must be returned before your official start date.  Your salary will be adjusted to reflect the number of verified years of experience.

Physicians' Statement of Good Health must be returned before your official start date.

TB Test Results are required if working within Edison Elementary or Southwest Elementary. The County Health Department, located in the County Health Building at 200 College Street, gives free TB tests. These tests are given on Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:30-11:30 am and from 1:30-4 pm.
